TECHNOLOGY FOR LOCATING INJURED PEOPLE IN AREAS WITHOUT MOBILE PHONE COVERAGE
The University of Alicante has developed a technology that allows the use of the mobile phone to locate people who have suffered an accident in places where there is no mobile coverage. The victim´s phone emits a WIFI signal (distress beacon) that is detectable at a great distance indicating its geographical coordinates.
This technology is protected as intellectual property by registering in the repository of the University of Alicante (RUA), within the registry of computer programs and databases:
