Sars-CoV-2 detection in saliva simples
A team of researchers from the CIPF has developed a test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 from saliva samples.
The main characteristic is the ease of taking samples and the reduction of the risk due to exposure of health personnel. Furthermore, the extraction of the genetic material of the virus is simpler, faster and cheaper.
It has a sensitivity above 94%, high sensitivity and specificity.
The CIPF is a center accredited by the Carlos III Health Institute to perform diagnostic PCR tests for COVID-19.
