HYDROGELS WITH RESPONSIVE MESOPOROUS SILICA NANOPARTICLES FOR LOCAL SUSTAINED DRUG DELIVERY
The present invention presents a material comprising a unique combination of an injectable hydrogel of in-situ formation loaded with drugs encapsulated in nanoparticles capped with molecular gates for local sustained and selective drug delivery. This unique combination allows on the one hand to improve the availability and penetrability of the drug due to the in-situ formation of the hydrogel. On the other hand, ensures the sustained and selective release of the drug into the therapeutic target through the action of molecular gates, which control the release of the drug only in the presence of stimuli present at the target site. This new material could be applied for the local treatment of carcinogenic tumors or any other area of the body where it is of interest to produce a sustained drug release.
